God\'s intention is that Christian women would be well informed theologians, and to do so they must first learn to respect the male pastors whom God has appointed to instruct them

A complementarian Church must focus intently on raising up men, particularly young men, to be responsible, loving leaders in their families and churches like Jesus and unlike Adam. Simply on of the kindest things we can do for women and children is to raise up men who are good Christians, husbands, fathers and Christian brothers.

Quitness here (1 Tim 2:11-3:5) does not mean total silence, but rather a peaceable demeanor that is also required of men in Titus 2:2

The church is not incidental to the great cosmic struggle for the hearts and souls of modern men and women. It is the instrument God has chosen for that battle – a battle we are called to by virtue of being members of His body.

What is preaching? Logic on fire! Eloquent reason!... Preaching is theology coming through a man who is on fire... What is preaching? To give men and women a sense of God and His presence. Martyn Lloyd Jones

Contempt of religion: This also is one of your special dangers. I always observe that none pay so little outward respect to Christianity as young men. None take so little part in our services, when they are present at them use Bibles so little; sing so little; listen to preaching so little. None are so generally absent at prayer meetings, Bible Studies, and all other weekday helps to the soul. Young men seem to think they do not need these things - they may be good for women and old men, but not for them. They appear ashamed of seeming to care about their souls: one would almost fancy they considered it a disgrace to go to heaven at all.

A guy was walking along the beach when he ran across a lamp. He picked it up, rubbed it and, naturally, a genie popped out. the genie told his new master he would grant the man three wishes. "First," the guy began, "I'd like a million dollars." POOF! A million dollars was suddenly showing on his checkbook balance. "Second," he continued, "I'd like a new Mercedes." POOF! A Mercedes appeared right in front of him. "Third," the guy smirked, "I'd like to be irresistible to women." and POOF! He turned into a box of chocolates.

Loneliness, family: Boyfriend pillow for Japan singles Ms Suzuki says the pillow has other advantages Japan's single women are being offered the ultimate sleeping partner - a comfort to cuddle up to, but one which does not snore or make demands. The Boyfriend's Arm Pillow, shaped like a man's torso with one sturdy arm, has been on sale since December and has so far been snapped up by 1,000 singles. Manufacturer Kameo said the pillow's shape also keeps the body balanced. One woman, Junko Suzuki, told AP: "It makes me relaxed... I can hold the arm and feel something warm at my side". The pillow is only available in Japan, where it costs about 8,500 Yen (£40, $80), and is available in blue, pink or green. Ms Suzuki, who is separated from her husband, says the pillow has other advantages. "It keeps holding me all the way through. I think this is great because this does not betray me," she told AP.

If you look back across the history of the Christian Church, you immediately find that the story of the Church has not been a straight line, a level record of achievement. The history of the Church has been a history of ups and downs. It is there to be seen on the very surface. When you read the history of the past you find that there have been periods in the history of the Church when she has been full of life, and vigour, and power. The statistics prove that people crowded to the house of God, whole numbers of people who were anxious and eager to belong to the Christian Church. Then the Church was filled with life, and she had great power; the Gospel was preached with authority, large numbers of people were converted regularly, day by day, and week by week. Christian people delighted in prayer. You did not have to whip them up to prayer meetings, you could not keep them away. They did not want to go home, they would stay all night praying. The whole Church was alive and full of power, and of vigour, and of might. And men and women were able to tell of rich experiences of the grace of God, visitations of his Spirit, a knowledge of the love of God that thrilled them, and moved them, and made them feel that it was more precious than the whole world. And, as a consequence of all that, the whole life of the country was affected and changed

I am particularly concerned, however, with some growing trends among some people: the rejection of Jeus' death on the cross as a penal substitute for our sins; resistance to openly denouncing homosexual acts as sinful; the questioning of a literal eternal torment in hell, which is a denial that holds up until, in an ironic bummer, you die and find yourself in hell; the rejection of God's sovereignty over and knowledge of the future, as if God were a junior-college professor who only knows bits and pieces of trivie; the rejection of biblically defined gender roles, thereby contributing to the "mantropy" epidemic among young guys now fretting over the best kind of looffah for their skin type and the number of women in the military dying to save their Bed, Bath and Beyond from terrorist attacks; and the rejection of Biblical names for God, such as Father, which is essentially apologising before the unbelieving world for the prayer life of the flamboyantly heterosexual Jesus, who uttered the horrendously polictically incorrect "Our Father" without ever having the decency to apologise for being a mysonogystic patriarchal meanie. This is ultimately all the result of a diminished respect for the perfection, authority and clarity of Scripture, all of which was written by patriarchal men.
